Trip Home
A picture of Nashville and the Great Smokey Mountains on the way home. Also pictures of a Celtic Festival in Richmond. Lots of fun!

Oklahoma/Texas
The City skyline is Oklahoma City on a foggy morning. We thought these other sites were unusual. At a rest area in Texas some cowboys were exercizing their horses. Only in Texas would you see horses at a rest area! The other rest area sign near the Oklahoma border indicated a tornado shelter. We had to stop to take a look at a tornado shelter on the interstate.

Wichita, Kansas
We spent the weekend in Wichita, Kansas. Here is a skyline view of the city and our favorite place to eat. It is Jimmie's Diner. The waitresses all wear poodle skirts and everyone is so friendly. They still do the old fashioned malts and shakes where they dip the ice cream. Yum! We just HAD to go back for breakfast and try the french toast.

Great Smoky Mountains in the Fall
Frank sits in a driver's lounge waiting for the truck to be serviced. The leaves in the Smoky Mountains were breathtaking -although the camera didn't quite get the colors! It was a beautiful drive through the mountains.

Florence KY
I thought these were unusual sites in Florence KY. The Wal-Mart looks like an old fashion shopping area with little shops. We almost missed it looking for Wal-Mart! Also the water tower is so funny. I tried to zoom in but failed. Sigh! Anyway it says
"FLORENCE, YA'LL".
You can click on any pictures to enlarge them.

American Buffalo
Mall of America
The Mall of America in Minneapolis is an amazing site. It's the largest shopping area we've seen. We hope to go back another time to see more of it.
Soo, Moose, Munger
We thought this was a strange sign on the road between Minneapolis and Duluth. It indicates Soo, Moose, and Munger trails ahead. We kept looking for Soo even though we weren't sure what they look like. It turns out the "Soo Trails" are snow mobile trails donated to the state by the Soo Train line (therefore they are now Soo Trails).
